Copper and Fenland bog oak
Length: 20cm approx
Height: 10cm approx
Depth: 5cm approx

The disk angle of a plough usually ranges between 42° and 45° – I am mesmerised by ploughing. A mould board or ‘blade’ from a mould board plough is perfectly shaped to cut and turn the earth in one smooth, effortless action. In this work the bog oak is slicing through the copper but ironically it is usually through the act of ploughing that bog oaks are discovered, often resulting in a broken plough.
