Buried copper and ebonised white oak
Length: 13.3 approx
Height: 4cm approx
Width: 10cm approx

One of my favourite toys as a child was a Fisher Price play house. A hinge opened the house up to reveal a few basic rooms complete with furniture and a family. One of the toys that the child in the family had was a rocking horse and it is the rocking movement that I have tried to emulate in this piece.
The copper has been buried in Fenland soil to patinate the metal, giving it an aged and worn quality, the angles and planes not quite straight and true as if it has been played with for years.
